Well, this is it: the final stretch of 2022 is upon us, and- yes- our faces are also frozen in disbelief.
With time flying almost as quickly as a new loadshedding stage being announced on any given day of the week, we have an incredible pile of happy work we created for clients to look back on with extreme pride. Of course, in 2022, we also celebrated our 1st birthday as Happy Friday, South Africa’s first people-centric agency. So, we’d like to share all the happy news, insights and results.
We won a prestigious AdFocus Award!
This year’s prestigious AdFocus Awards were all about the “the champions of the bounce back”, which focused on agencies that successfully navigated the many challenges of the pandemic.
We are incredibly proud to have won the Adaptability Award, a testament to our resilience and innovation as a small agency that’s made a big impact in the industry.

Our people-centric approach has, once again, attracted some top talent, and we’d like you to meet them.
Zandiswa Copiso (Senior Account Executive)
Zandiswa holds a BTech Degree in Public Relations Management and has worked in various PR, marketing and advertising roles. Her close friends describe her as “fun, funny, and a shoulder to cry on”, and her fantasy dinner guests are Siv Ngesi, Somizi Mhlongo and Da Capo.
Kelsey Volschenk (Account Manager)
Kelsey’s vast industry experience has seen her work as a marketing and campaign manager for various top brands. Outside of work, pizza-loving Kelsey cites Property24 as one of her favourite apps because she loves viewing houses and says crocodile is the weirdest food she’s eaten.
Promoting the best soft life for Lenovo with an influencer campaign
When Lenovo asked us to help them craft an influencer campaign for their new P11Tablet, we knew we had to come up with something that has that Happy Friday edge.
So, we teamed up with Dr Musa Mthombeni, the king of The Soft Life, for a #SmarterTalks series. The Instagram campaign proved to be a massive success, with 290 000 video views, 24 940 post reactions, and a total reach of 268 763.
A happy space to help Liberty check for happy hearts
We helped Liberty spread awareness about heart health by conceptualising and executing an experiential activation that provided free medical screenings.
And because getting tested can be scary for many people, we made sure the screening experience was warm and welcoming, ensuring people felt at ease and supported as they checked up on their health. All in all, 687 people were screened, which meant Liberty met their goal for the activation.
We put Liquid C2 up in cloud 9
Whether it’s a networking event or a lead generation get-together, Happy Friday knows how to execute on all the happy details and touch points.
We did this for our client, Liquid C2, with one event at the 12 Apostles Hotel and Spa and the other at Rooftop on Bree in Cape Town.

Happy people take happy breaks
Happy Friday will be hanging the proverbial “Closed” sign on its doors for a well-deserved break.
We’ll be offline and unreachable from 23 December to 3 January.
